Happy Monday, fit fam!! =)
Do you often find yourself coming up short on the health & wellness goals that you set for yourself?
Whether they’re personal or professional, goal setting is a natural part of life. We set goals so that we are motivated to reach a desired outcome.
But before you continue reading this, I want you to pause for a second and think about what your main health-related goals are right now.
Here are some common examples that I have gotten from my clients:
While these goals do have some direction, they are primarily focused on the end results only (which, in this case, is to lose weight).
The truth is that when we set broad-spectrum goals like this, we are highly unlikely to reach them, simply because there are no systems in place that will guide our behaviors and require us to take action.
One of my favorite authors, James Clear, once said (and I believe it to be true) that if you want to get better results, then
“forget about setting goals, and focus on your systems instead.”
You see, a system is like a road map that will get you from where you are now to where you want to be and without it, you’re lost.
It’s like having a destination to reach, but absolutely no idea how to get there.
However, by having a system in place, or a road map to follow, you are able to eliminate the guess work and reach your final destination on time! All you have to do is follow the plan by taking constant, consistent, and immediate action each & every day to propel you forward in right direction.
So next time you set a goal for yourself, I want you to systemize it.
Be specific in your approach.
In my personalized nutrition coaching program, I will work with you one-on-one to help you learn a more flexible & sustainable approach to nutrition & fitness that you will be able to follow for the rest of your life!
