​Meet Claudia. 


"I have struggled with disordered eating since my teenage years. I tried pretty much every diet that was I ever heard of: weight watchers, hcg, keto, Dukan, Zone, Nutrisystem. I took the calorie deficit mantra to an extreme and would eat a minimal amount of calories daily. I ate barely enough calories to survive. Alas, I stopped losing weight and had been at a plateau for years. No matter how little I consumed, the scale wouldn’t budge.

In my never ending quest to lose weight I started CrossFit, that’s where I met Sara and my life changed. Sara spoke about a different approach to weight loss. She spoke about the body needing fuel to not only survive, but to thrive. She discussed macros: protein, carbohydrates and fat; and how all three are necessary for daily function and weight loss. I was skeptical, I was used to cutting foods out, not adding them. However, I considered her credentials and decided to try her approach. Seriously; there was nothing to lose, except weight.

And so began my journey with Sara. Today, I eat more daily than I have eaten in years. There is no list of foods that I can or cannot eat. Literally nothing is off-limits. Thanks to Sara, I have lost over 10 lbs in a few months and am the strongest I have ever been. More importantly, with Sara’s encouragement, support and guidance; I no longer focus on the number on the scale. My personal success is not defined by how quickly the number on the scale is moving. Instead, it is more important to me to become stronger, faster and fitter.
Sara has been a God-send. She is patient and understanding. She is always ready and willing to answer any questions - no matter how
outlandish you may think they are. She has, unequivocally, changed my life.

Meet Allie.

"I had just graduated from college and started working a full-time job. I wasn’t as active as I used to be in college and I began gaining some weight. I tried to join a gym and take it off on my own but I felt like I was getting nowhere so that’s when I decided to reach out and get Sara’s help. I chose to work with Sara because she was local and more personal than other people I looked at. She also offered the reduced rate body scan to get a better understanding of my body and what plan would work for me. That was a large factor in deciding to work with her because I knew my plan would be personalized and work for me.

Before working with Sara, I felt hopeless. I felt like I was always going to be overweight and I had a negative connotation associated with food. My relationship with food had become very toxic. This was something I was able to work with Sara about since we talked about more than just nutrition in our meetings. During the program, I felt in control. I finally felt like I could eat and appreciate food instead of getting upset or feel guilty after I ate. My workouts were a lot better fueled and my recovery was a lot faster. My biggest challenge was overcoming the scale. I had grown up thinking the number on the scale was all that mattered. But I learned that it’s just a number. It doesn’t reflect the muscle gain and fat loss.
Now, I don’t think about the scale. The victories are being able to run longer, lift more, and feeling comfortable in my own body.

​"After 3 pregnancies and a very busy work and family life, there was no time for me to focus on me and why i was feeling so tired and overweight. I needed to create time for me in order to plan and make healthier food choices. You helped me think about food differently and opened me up to many new food options. You helped me navigate through fasting during lent, planning for vacations and times away from home, breastfeeding, weaning from breastfeeding and dealing with hypothyroidism. 

I chose to work with you because I knew you are smart, knowledgable RD and your program wasn't a fad/extreme diet, it is a lifestyle change. You are a wealth of information (and I love understanding the science behind anything, especially nutrition) and this helped me build confidence that my goals were attainable.
